Marty Puranik is the CEO of Atlantic.Net, a leading cloud hosting solutions provider. In the mid-1990s at the University of Florida, internet service was scarce. Out of frustration due to the lack of internet access around campus, Marty set out to become his own ISP.

In order to pay for the internet service, Marty ran a computer repair shop out of his dorm room at the University of Florida. He wasn’t out to change the world; he just wanted internet access.

Within a year, the company had eight employees and over 2,000 customers. As the ISP business cooled off in the early 2000s amid increasing regulations and oversight, Atlantic.Net pivoted to offer colocation and data center services, later adding managed hosting, cloud, and virtualization tools. Now Atlantic.Net runs data centers in New York, London, Toronto, San Francisco, Dallas and Orlando, and is a trusted hosting and cloud services, provider.
