EdX is a nonprofit, open-source learning destination offering online educational programs and courses at edx.org in alliance with more than 130 member institutions, composed of both leading global universities and colleges, and a diverse group of prominent organizations from around the world.

Founded by Harvard University and MIT in 2012, edX’s mission is to democratize and re-imagine education by increasing access to high-quality education and creating a culture of continuous, lifelong learning. I felt compelled to find out more and invited Adam Medros, President & COO at edX onto my daily tech podcast.

Adam Medros joined edX from TripAdvisor, Inc. where he was Senior Vice President of Global Product, leader of the hotels vertical where he was one of the key members of the team that helped the company scale to a global, publicly traded company with 400 million monthly users and over $1.5 billion in annual revenue.

Medros also has extensive experience in building strong teams and driving innovation. I wanted to learn more about edX continued growth after expanding its global learner base to over 13 million students and offering new, innovative programs and credentials designed to help learners advance their careers.

I learn how edX is focused on transforming online and classroom learning through groundbreaking methodologies, game-like educational experiences and cutting-edge research on an open-source platform.
