Open Systems was founded in 1990 as a security integrator and Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP). In 2012, as software-defined networks came into their own, they transitioned into a leading provider of secure SD-WAN globally. They have been a leader in the field ever since and currently operate in more than 180 countries.

Co-headquartered in Zurich and Silicon Valley, they consider innovation is their birthright. The company combines next-generation technology, machine learning-enhanced operational processes, and the world’s top engineers to deliver an end-to-end, fully integrated SD-WAN for their customers.

I invited Moritz Mann onto my daily tech podcast to learn more about SD-WAN (software-defined networking in a wide area network). Moritz Mann studied at the Dualen Technical College Baden-Württemberg (DHBW) in Lörrach, Germany. He holds a degree in Information Systems. Additionally, he has earned a Bachelor in Business Administration from Open University in Milton Keynes, UK.

After finishing his studies, Moritz Mann joined Open Systems AG directly. Between 2012 and 2017, he held the responsibility for Mission Control Operations in Zurich and Sydney after having worked in different roles in Development, Professional Services, and Sales.  In mid-2017, he became the Chief Product Officer, responsible for product development in the market.

We discuss increasing network safety for IoT using SD-WAN and how endpoints can be connected to respond to the changing nature of a network. I also learn how SD-WAN can be implemented using simple, rapid configuration, so IoT endpoints have bandwidth support.

Finally, we explore how SD-WAN can provide insights that deliver the best customer experience. But while also allowing enterprise stakeholders to remove the complexity of network management and shift focus to business growth.
