408: The Tech Startup Bringing Technology To Traditional Infrastructure

Pavia Systems provides much-needed technology solutions to infrastructure projects across the US. They work with both Departments of Transportation and private companies.

What is particularly interesting about Pavia is that they originally were founded to solve the problem of discoverability across infra projects, i.e. to stop the pen and paper approach which (incredibly still exists today), however, in the process of solving this problem they created a new one – massive amounts of data.

As a consequence of this vast amount of data, George White CEO and co-founder of Pavia Systems talks about some of the most interesting innovation in infrastructure such as driverless cars and the requirements they will have, drones in project assessment and making our highways and byways sustainable and reducing the impact on the environment.
