George Gray, CTO of Ivenix joins me on The Tech Talks Daily Podcast to talk about the first-ever IV pump to be cleared under the FDA's stringent guidelines.
Ivenix is a medical technology company with a vision to eliminate infusion-related patient harm. The company was founded to develop innovative solutions to transform infusion delivery. Ivenix designed an infusion system from the ground up to streamline medication delivery and bring legacy technology into the digital age.
The Ivenix Infusion System includes a large volume infusion pump supported by a robust infusion management system designed to set new standards in usability, medication precision, and interoperability.
It is the first-ever IV pump to be cleared under the FDA's more stringent guidelines and was adopted in 2014 in an attempt to reduce skyrocketing costs associated with infusion-related errors, pump recalls and security breaches.
To give you a sense of just how far-reaching this is, more than 12 million patients were recently affected by a data breach at the American Medical Collection Agency, along with another 7.7 million LabCorp patients.
George Gray joined Ivenix in December 2011 as Vice President of Software Development and Chief Information Architect and later served as CTO and VP of Software & Information Systems. George is responsible for overseeing all research and development activities, as well as user experience design and testing.
George discusses why cybersecurity and interoperability are critical to device security and how connected devices present an enormous security risk to hospitals and medical centers.
